Μόνο «επιλεγμένα μέλη και χορηγοί» θα βρίσκονται στην αίθουσα καθώς ανακοινώνονται τα βραβεία, σύμφωνα με την διοργανώτρια επιτροπή.
Οι παρευρισκόμενοι πρέπει να έχουν λάβει και την αναμνηστική δόση του εμβολίου, καθώς και να επιδείξουν αρνητικό τεστ PCR 48 ωρών, ενώ θα τηρηθούν και όλα τα άλλα απαραίτητα μέτρα, όπως μάσκες και κοινωνική απόσταση.
Δεν θα υπάρχει κόκκινο χαλί, ενώ δεν έχουν προκληθεί μέσα ενημέρωσης.

Οι Χρυσές Σφαίρες μεταδίδονταν παραδοσιακά από το NBC. Φέτος, η τελετή δεν θα μεταδοθεί από το δίκτυο, σε ένδειξη διαμαρτυρίας για την έλλειψη ποικιλομορφίας στη σύνθεση της επιτροπής. Η HFPA αποτελείται από 87 δημοσιογράφους που καθορίζουν τους υποψηφίους και τους νικητές των Χρυσών Σφαιρών κάθε χρόνο.
Η HFPA έκανε από τότε ενημερώσεις και αναθεωρήσεις για να γίνει πιο περιεκτικό αφού αντιμετώπισε μποϊκοτάζ στο Χόλιγουντ, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του Τομ Κρουζ, ο οποίος επέστρεψε και τα τρία βραβεία Χρυσής Σφαίρας.

Μετά την αποκάλυψη των υποψηφίων τον Δεκέμβριο, το Χόλιγουντ παρέμεινε ως επί το πλείστον σιωπηλό, με μόνο μερικά αστέρια να αντιδρούν στην ανακοίνωση.
Το HFPA δεν έχει ανακοινώσει εάν η τελετή των βραβείων θα μεταδοθεί ζωντανά από κάποιο δίκτυο ή όχι.
